Missed Opportunity

The Indians took two out of three from Kansas City, but then came home to lose two games to the Baltimore Orioles. There was a chance to make up more ground, but the Tribe was not up to the task. The Orioles are not exactly a powerhouse but scored enough runs to win the series. Adam Jones had a couple of home runs to help.

In the last ten games, the Indians went 6-4 while the Royals dropped seven out of ten. Detroit was 2-8 and the Twins managed to split, going 5-5. There is an opportunity to make some noise as the Central Division teams are certainly struggling. The Indians have to up their game.

I was interested to see the Yankees were 7-3 as was Tampa Bay. Mark Texiera is having a great year while Brian McCann is off to a much better start than in 2014. The Rays pitching has been outstanding, particularly Chris Archer.

In the National League, the Cardinals are still rolling. Old friend Johny Peralta is hitting well and the St. Louis starters show no sings of letting up. I still believe the Pirates are a real threat and could challenge here. The Dodgers have Puig back. The next few weeks will be fun in the N.L.
